Billie and I are very excited to debut Douglas E. Wright's short novel, BOOGALOOS, the premier title in our First Cut line of books. With First Cut, we hope to promote some of the new and undiscovered talents we've stumbled upon in our travels as publishers. The books in this series will be offered in signed/numbered softcover and limited edition hardcover format. The hardcover edition will feature extra fiction and art not found in the softcover. Although the books will be limited to 100 softcover and 50 limited hardcover books, the print run will ultimately be decided through a 60-day pre-order period.
Billie and I have had the pleasure of publishing several of Doug's short stories over the years (those of you who have read Black Ink Horror will recognize his name), so we couldn't be more excited about publishing one of his long works. He's a fantastic writer whose prose is rich with detail and thick with atmosphere. Fans of classic supernatural fiction will feel right at home. The books will be fully-illustrated by the incredibly talented Meghan Hakes. Again, BIH readers will be very familiar with her spectacular pen and ink drawings. I've been a fan of her work for a while now, and I can't wait to showcase some of it in BOOGALOOS.
And, as an added incentive to try out this talented author, we are offering the following:
An introduction by Canadian horror author: Susie Moloney.
Everyone who orders BOOGALOOS will get a free chapbook.
Yup, order either edition of the book and you will receive SWEET THINGS, a chapbook containing two of Doug's stories (and fully illustrated by Meghan Hakes) FOR FREE.Billie and I know times are tough, and we know that it's difficult stretching your book-buying budget, so we figured a little extra fiction/art would sweeten the pot.
